We create personalized music playlists for those living with dementia at home in Colorado. The equipment consists of over-the-ear headphones with an inserted sd card and does not require WiFi, Bluetooth, separate mp3 players or cords. The playlist of permanent downloads focuses on music enjoyed from ages 12 to 25. Research shows that this period of music produces the most effective responses and joy. The Colorado Memory Project aims to improve the quality of life for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers by reducing stress, strengthening connection, and making personalized music an accessible part of daily care- with the potential to expand this approach to other debilitating conditions.
