Rich Shockey

Vice President, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Colorado

Rich Shockey has been a dedicated leader in the social impact sector, currently serving as the Vice President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado. His journey has been marked by a deep commitment to community service, shifting power and resources in community to the places they are needed the most.

Before joining Big Brothers Big Sisters, Rich led Social Venture Partners (SVP) Denver, a CNDC partner project, where he worked to strengthen the nonprofit community, helping to deploy over $1 million in grants, impact investments, and pro bono supports in his tenure. Rich also served as the Executive Director of Flourish Furniture Bank in Kansas City, where he led efforts to provide home furnishings and household goods to over 2000 people coming out of homelessness.

Through his work and life, Rich has shown a passion for community and a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those around him, making the journey a little easier for everyone he serves. He was a foster parent for over 13 years, serving around 75 youth, and continues to serve on the board of directors for his former foster agency. He has two adult sons, 20 and 19, both adopted through foster care.
