To empower victims of sexual assault to make informed decisions about coming forward and throughout the judicial process by making basic information accessible to all victims regardless of race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, socioeconomic class, or citizenship status. The current inaccessibility of the judicial system fosters an unjust environment especially hostile to underrepresented victims from disadvantaged backgrounds. This leaves victims vulnerable to intimidation, exploitation, and retraumatization by the system responsible for protecting them. Tracing The Steps restores agency to victim survivors so they can make critical decisions from a place of strength and dignity.
